The Sea Cadet Corps is a voluntary, uniformed, national, youth organisation which relies on charitable donations. Our Staff are fully trained to nationally recognised standards (BCU, RYA, St. John's Ambulance, etc.) for general and specialist qualifications, such as: Seamanship, Boatwork, Physical Training, Marine Engineering, First Aid, Expedition Training, Cooking and Stewarding.

We also provide other sporting activities, such as: swimming, sailing, 5-a-side football, shooting, Paddlesport (kayaking and Canoeing) , pulling (rowing), power boating and field gun competitions .

The Corps is neither a para-military organisation nor a recruitment service for the Royal Navy but, we do provide useful training and instruction to the same exacting high standards demanded by the Royal  Navy. Each unit is inspected and assessed annually by the Royal Navy to ensure that the high standards are kept up.
